Do I really need a Personal Injury Lawyer?

I settled a case for a lady today who reminded me that to begin with she had been very uncertain about even engaging a solicitor to represent her. Indeed she had been advised by a number of well-meaning family members not to get involved with solicitors because that would end up costing her.
Despite this advice she decided to go with us and in the end she was over the moon with the result we achieved. All she really wanted was enough to pay for her future osteopathic treatment which was estimated to cost $5,000 over the next 5 years or so.
In the end result we were able to settle the case for $47,500. Her legal costs were $6,000 all of which was paid for by the insurance company. Needless to say she was very happy.
There are many people just like this client. They are very unsure about whether to get lawyers involved.. We can understand that. We understand that our role is to add value. We won’t take the case on unless we can.
